Supported Contact
Is a lower level of supervision than supervised contact, this can take place in a variety of community venues with other families present or where additional needs make this inappropriate the sessions can happen in a private room with a worker nearby. This type of contact is suitable for families where there is no significant risk and it can be the next step towards transitioning to families managing their contact arrangements independently of professional support. These sessions are supported by a co-ordinator and volunteers who are available for assistance and guidance, but there is no close observation, monitoring or evaluation of individual contacts or conversations. If required a list of the dates attended can be made available to both parties and any professionals involved
